Reported age at time of death was 3 years, so if accurate, evidently born about 1875 or 1876. Child of Joseph Henry and Keziah (WILLIS) BROOKS, who married 07 MAY 1865 in Muscogee County, Georgia; he later married, on 11 MAY 1879, to her niece, Nancy Beulah REEDY.

Burial entry in the sexton's ledger book shows: Larken BROOKS was born in Georgia, died aged 3 years of typhoid fever, and was buried 28 JUN 1879 in Section C, Lot 902 as a non-resident of Columbus, Georgia. The sexton was Abraham ODOM.

This grave is evidently not identifiably marked. Other persons buried in city C-902 include: Keziah (WILLIS) BROOKS, buried 05 FEB 1879 (aged 38 years); Augustus BROOKS, buried 24 JUL 1879 (aged 6 months); Willis "Billy" BROOKS, buried 06 OCT 1880 (aged 7 months); D. A.? "Lois" BROOKS, buried 31 JAN 1891 (aged 4 or 5 months); stillborn baby of J. H. ADAMS, buried 13 SEP 1892; stillborn infant of J. H. ADAMS, buried 13 JUN 1893 (reported in C-905, but should be C-902); infant of J. H. ADAMS, buried 18 APR 1894 (aged 6 hours); +Cora "Corrie" BROOKS, buried 07 SEP 1896 (aged 2 years); and Z. A. BROOKS, Jr., buried 30 JUN 1917 (aged 9 years).
+ originally buried in Nance Lot (city 2-879 / Autry D-41); grave moved on 04 MAR 1908 to city C-902

Dolores Autry's "Historic Linwood Cemetery" (edited by Lea Dowd et al.), Volume 3, p. 211, states: "This lot (J-181) was accidentally omitted from the first printing. My sincerest appreciation to Ken Thomas for his information on this lot." Unlike a traditional publication, this work is available in a print-on-demand basis through an online press. There is no "first printing," "second printing," etc. As the text was altered from the original version, what Dowd should have said here is "second edition." Unlike the first and second volumes, Volume 3 includes no title page. None of the volumes includes information on what printing or edition the book is, only that Volume 1 was copyrighted in 2006 and Volume 2 in 2007; no copyright date included in Volume 3.
