Dorothy “Dot” Millard, age 97 of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Stones River Manor. She was born in Springfield, TN the seventh daughter of the late Charlie and Susie Oliver. Dorothy was a member of Powell’s Chapel Baptist Church and had lived in the Mona Community the past 71 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Millard Sr. in 1993; son, Richard Wayne Millard; granddaughter, Dana Brooke Millard; and a son-in-law, Bobby R. Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Sherman Oliver, Joe Ed Oliver, Howard Oliver and Billy Oliver; and sisters, Irene Oliver, Grace Albritton, Annie Lou Adcock, Odessa Binkley and Allie Habick.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Carol) Millard, Charles (Brenda) Millard, Karen (Billy) Alford, Suzanne (Ricky) England, Burdah Marie Smith; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Schultz Millard; grandchildren, Thomas Smith, Holly Miner, Shelley Cox, Ricky England, Rachel England, Maymie McCrary, Cory Alford and Mandy Bolzman; great-grandchildren, Allyssa and Charlie Cox, Kimberly and Payton Miner, Holden England and Lily Alford; and brothers, Jimmy Oliver and Ray Oliver.
There will be a family visitation 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home Friday, January 15, 2021 . Graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Stones River Manor Advanced Care and Alive Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness.
