Thomas B. Millard
Services for Thomas Benjamin Millard, 71, of Mona Road, who died Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Murray Mathis will officiate.
His parents were the late Burdah Martin and Robert Millard.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Oliver Millard of Murfreesboro; three sons, Thomas Millard Jr., Charles Millard and Richard Millard, all of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Suzanne England, Karen Alford, both of Murfreesboro, Burdah Smith of Nashville; three brothers, Robert of Old Hickory, Edward Millard of Murfreesboro and Bruce Wiggins of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Opal Fergus of LaVergne, Mrs. Frank Earl of Winchester, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.
A member of Powell's Chapel Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart medal. A retired employee of the VA Hospital and the Middle Tennessee Health Institute, he was a native of Fayetteville, Tenn., having lived here most of his life.
Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Thursday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.
