Chalmas Henson, 71, retired grocery store owner of Kilmichael died Sunday afternoon, May 4 in the Kilmichael Hospital after a lengthy illness.
An Alabama native, Henson vas a member of Milligan springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Power Henson, his sons, C.L. Henson of Mendenhall and Dr. L.C. Henson of Kilmichael and his sister, Mrs. Effie Watts of Mathiston. There are also five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 5 at 5 p.m. in the Huntsville Church of Christ with Dan Beardin, assisted by the Rev. Howard Smith, presiding. Services were directed by Oliver Funeral Home and burial was in the Huntsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Milton Scott, Joe Evans, Marion Williams, Brent Stanford, Ted McGlothin and Marshall Stafford, Jr.
