GROVER JOHNSON

Grover E. Johnson, 77, of 2429 Madison Ave., an Anderson resident most of his life, died Friday at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis after an illness of several months.

A native of Bradyville, Ia., born June 16, 1887, he had been employed at the Madison County Highway garage. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his widow, Nellie; eleven children, Mrs. Howard McDonald, Mrs. Leo Adams, Mrs. Mearl Alfrey, Mrs. James Slemp, Mrs. Terry Day, Mrs. Steve Carpenter, all of Anderson, Mrs. James Bass of Indianapolis, Mrs. William Amick of Elwood; James, Jerry, and Donald Johnson, Anderson, 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at the Baker Brothers Funeral Home by the Rev. Thurl Mann of the 38th St. Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in the East Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Funeral home.
