Nellie Johnson

Mrs. Nellie Mae Johnson, 64, 4105 1/2 Main, died Saturday at 10:45 a.m. Her death followed an extended illness.

A resident here all of her life, she was born Oct. 13, 1907, to William and Rosa Ridlen. She was a member of the East 38th St. Church of the Nazarene.

Preceded in death by her husband, Grover E. Johnson, who died in 1965, she is survived by: eight daughters, Mrs. Leo (Betty) Adams, Mrs. Merle (Sarah) Alfrey, Mrs. James (Patsy) Miller, Mrs. Gene (Ruth Ann) Scott, Mrs. Steve (Becky) Carpenter, all of Anderson, and Mrs. Howard (Rose) McDonald, Greensboro, Mrs. James (Barbara) Bass, Eden, and Mrs. William (Marjorie) Amick, Elwood; three sons, James L. and Donald M. Johnson, both of Anderson, and Jerry Johnson, Markleville; 31 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Jesse R. Marlin will conduct funeral services at Baker Brothers Funeral Home, Tuesday at 1 p.m. with interment to follow in East Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and after 4 p.m. Monday.
