Augusta Bertha Grunert (nee Werner/Wehner/Wähner/Waehner) was born May 19, 1834 in the Königreich (Kingdom) of Sachsen (Saxony), Germany, in the city of Mittweida. Her father is listed as Fritz Wehner on her death certificate. Bertha married Carl Frederick (Fred/Fritz) Grunert about 1856 in Germany. According to the 1900 census, they had 16 children, 6 of which were alive in 1900:

Gustav Walter Adolf born Feb 8, 1857 in Mittweida, Saxony, Germany (died 1924 S Milwaukee) married Christiana Kehres
Robert Fredrick born May 26, 1860 in Saxony, Germany (died 1938 Milwaukee) married Pauline Brandau
Anna Bertha born Feb 26, 1868 in Saxony, Germany (died 1947 Milwaukee) married George Brandau
Friedrick Jr born 1870 in Saxony, Germany (died between 1873 and 1880 in USA)
Mary born Jul 7, 1872 in Saxony, Germany (Died 1936 Milwaukee) married William Daniels
Louisa "Lizzie" Elisabeth born Jul 3, 1876 in Milwaukee (Died 1956 Milwaukee) married Charles Lindloff

Bertha and Fredrick Grunert came to the US on May 27, 1873 landing in New York, aboard the ship 'City of Limerick'. Her husband Fredrick died in 1895, and is buried at Union Cemetery.

Bertha died July 13, 1915 in Wauwatosa and was buried July 15, 1915 at Union Cemetery.

There is a good guess for Bertha's parents. Christian Friedrich Heinrich Werner and his wife Johanna Christiane (nee Steinbach) were married about 1830 and had 4 children in Mittweida during the time Bertha was born. As of 2023, the marriage and 2 births are documented:
Child #1 - 1831
Child #2 - 12/13/1832 - Heinrick Freidrich
Child #3 - 1833 to 1835 (when Bertha was born)
Child #4 - 10/27/1835 - Heinrick Eduard
The interesting twist to this particular family is the 2 male children were specifically listed as child #2, and #4. As I go through these records, many females were omitted.

These records are very fragmented and only discovered by searching thru all the birth and marriage records of Mittweida focused on Werner between 1800 and 1850. The records are incomplete, but there were many Werner's living in Mittweida at this time.

Again, this is only speculation as this is the only Friedrich Werner family in Mittweida having children during this time period.

Gravesite Details

Dec 17, 2020: Her stone had been knocked 5' out of place, very recently. The impression where it belongs was easily recognizable, so I placed it back where it belongs.
