Helen D. Trapp, 91, St. Joseph, died Saturday evening, Oct. 17, 1992, at a local health-care center after a brief illness. Born in Ripley, Okla., Mrs. Trapp had resided in Chicago, Ill., and Maryville, Mo., prior to moving to St. Joseph in 1947. She was a graduate of Maryville High School, Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, and the Maryville conservatory of Music. She also attended the University of Kansas. She had taught English and Journalism at Hall School and Lafayette High School and had been a piano teacher in St. Joseph since 1947. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society and the Phillipine Duchesne Club, where she had served as past president. Mrs. Trapp was also a member of the Fortnightly Musical Club, the St Joseph Music Teachers Association, and the State and National Music Teachers Associations. In 1929, she married George A. Trapp. He died in 1968. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dale Hoffman, in 1980. Surviving: two sons, Edward J Trapp of the home and Dr. George A. Trapp of Dallas, Texas, three sisters, Virginia Haberly of Vero Beach, Fla., Mary L. Adams of Independence, Mo., and Nancy Terhune of Belton, Mo., and four grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial: 9:30 a m Wednesday, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph Burial Mount Olivet Cemetery Family visitation 3 to 5 pm Tuesday, Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home Rosary 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
