Richard Allison

Richard L. Allison, 59, of 37 1st St. Newell, was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital Thursday at 4:30 p.m. after taking ill suddenly at home. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Allison was born June 26, 1919 in Chester, a son of Mrs. Linda Collins Allison of Chester and the late Lee Allison. He worked as a crane operator in the hot strip department at the Crucible Steel Division of Colt Industries. He was a member of Local 1212 United Steel Workers and the Lawrenceville American Legion. Besides his mother, survivors include his widow, Mrs. Helen Bobovich Allison, whom he married June 30, 1936; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Skelton of Glenmoor; a son, Richard P. Allison of Newell; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Conkle of Chester, and six grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, New Manchester. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and night.
