Elze, Martin (age 97) passed away February 11, 2001 in Spokane. Survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Penny Elze of Spokane, Ralph and Loran Elze of Roy, WA; three daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Frank DeBenedetto of Fresno, CA'; Lucille and Robert Tenoria of Taos, NM; Betty and Leonard Grubb of Rogers, Ark; 20 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Marian; and a son Walter. A 26 year resident of Spokane, Mr. Elze had been a dairy farmer for 60 years and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Memorial service Thursday, February 15, 2001. 1pm Colonial Chapel, Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd. Pastor Craig Wulf, officiating.

Memorial service for Martin Elze, 97, will be at 1 pm Thursday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Mr. Elze, who was born in Westcliffe, Colo., died Sunday. He worked as a dairy farmer in Colorado, New Mexico and Newman Lake. Mr. Elze and his wife, Marian, lived in Fresno, Calif., for 15 years before moving to Spokane area 24 years ago. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. His wife of 59 years died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Elze of Spokane and Ralph Elze of Roy, Wash,; three daughters, Barbara DeBenedetto of Fresno, Calif., Lucille Tenoria of Taos, NM., and Betty Grubb of Rogers, Ark., 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
