STAMPS, Ark.-Sam Redmon, 77, of Canfield, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Redmon was born May 30, 1924, in Lafayette County, Ark. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Avis Carol Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Avis Redmon of Canfield; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Barrett and Sue Bright of Cypress, Texas, Bailey and Cindy Bright of Sarepta, La., and James Bright of Canfield; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Knox of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Emmett Redmon of Lewisville, Ark., and Floyd Redmon of West Covina, Calif.; one sister, Gracie Matthews of Phoenix; one special friend, Willie Strickland of Canfield; 17 stepgrandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with the Revs. Charles Bell and Tim Harper officiating. Burial in DeMoss Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canfield Baptist Church or Camp Canfield.
