She was a native of Darlington and a resident of Greensburg. She was a homemaker and a member of Center United Methodist Church in Greensburg.
She is survived by her five daughters, Gracie Darvon, Polly Forbes, Eudora (Ted) Bandy, Helen Fay (Donald) Aucoin, and Dorothy Bradham; three sons, Edgar L Allen Jr (Tracey), Russell Allen (Lois), and Edward Allen (Joan); daughter-in-law, Patty Allen; a sister, Jewel Redmond Trowbridge; brother, Woodrow Redmond (Margaret); thirty-eight grandchildren, ninety-one great-grandchildren and fifty-seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Yarborough Redmond; her husband, Edgar L Allen Sr; and a son, Charles Emery "Charlie" Allen Sr.
