David Wayne Hamby, 82, of Athens, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Hamby was born October 29th, 1937, to Stanford Hamby and Annie Ellenburg Hamby.
The family will have a private graveside service.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara A. Hamby; sons D'Wayne Hamby (Sharon) and Alan Hamby; daughter Malissa Knudtson; grandchildren Tina Hamby, Elizabeth Hamby, Katherine Cagle, and Geoffrey Knudtson; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; son James Robert Hamby; granddaughter Barbara R. Hamby; and seven siblings.
He never gave up 'til the Lord called him and took care of everybody 'til the end.
