PONTOTOC – Barbara Ann Hamby Reeves, 60, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in Chickasaw County, May 15, 1954, to Stanford Ford Hamby and Jeanette Higginbotham Hamby. She worked as a home health assistant.
Services will be held Saturday, September 20, at 2 p.m., at Southern Funeral Chapel in Houston, with Brother Jacob Samuell officiating. Burial will follow in Ellzey Cemetery in Calhoun County. Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 19, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her children, Greg Reeves (Tina) of Wren, and Jennifer Reeves of Pontotoc; her grandchildren, Lexie Reeves, Tony Gray, Tyler Gray and Justin Gray; her sisters, Janice Reeves (Carl), and Brenda Adams (Roger), all of Woodland; her brothers, Stanley Hamby (Deborah) of Houston, Jerry Higginbotham (Cheryl) of Okolona, and Bobby Hamby (Barbara) of West Point; and her stepfather, Marvin Leon Reeves of Pontotoc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanford Ford Hamby and Jeanette Higginbotham Reeves; and her husband Larry Reeves.
