Ronald Dean Carey was the son of Donald Ray Carey and Geneva Welch.

Ron served in the United States Navy from December 29th, 1978 until December 5th, 1984. Among his awards are the Battle "E" Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal. He held the position of Engineman for over two years. He was separated off of the USS Hewitt in Long Beach, California.
