Charles had lived near Lyndon for 56 years, in Ottawa for 25 years and in Topeka for the last 11 years.
Charles worked as a truck driver for Army Air Force Exchange Service and for Bones Trucking in Ottawa, he was a plumber and electrician and he had worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant near DeSoto. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Vassar.
Charles was married to Delores Jane Masenthin on July 24, 1949 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2007. Charles married Ruth Tessendorf on December 31, 2008.
Charles was also preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hallie; his brother, Paul Brecheisen; and his two sisters, Edrie Piemann and Maxine Miller.
Charles is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; his son, Rex ; his two daughters, Ronda (Nelson) and Rita (Larry); a step son, Mike (Brenda; a step daughter, Deb; nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Charles will be at 6:00pm on Friday, November 27 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the chapel. Memorials to Zion Lutheran Church c/o Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451. Inurnment will be in the Vassar Cemetery at a later date.
