Jacob Lehi Curtis was born at home in Moroni to Erastus Curtis and Margaret Elvira Stump.
Jacob married Sarah Alice White on December 14, 1887 in Moroni. They were divorced on November 10, 1897. Jacob married Jensena Simonsen on November 11, 1897 in Moroni. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti LDS Temple.
Jacob was a farmer in Sanpete County for most of his life.
Jacob passed away peacefully at the family home in Moroni at 4:00 p.m., a victim of the 1918 flu pandemic. The official cause of death was lobar pneumonia.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 1, 1918 in the Moroni Tabernacle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Moroni. Bishop Orlando Brandley presided during the services. The choir was present and rendered appropriate hymns. The speakers were Ephrim Nelson, Soren C. Nielson, and Bishop Orlando Brandley. The opening prayer was offered by Elder Amos A. Bradley and the closing prayer was offered by Elder Jabez Faux. Vocal solos were rendered by Miss Melba Christensen, Miss Edna Hardy, and Ray Blackham. The grave was dedicated by Elder Danield Anderson.
Jacob was interred in the Moroni City Cemetery in the family plot following the conclusion of the Funeral Services.
