John A. Bollinger, 85, formerly of Palmerton R.2, died Tuesday in Weatherwood, Weatherly. He was the husband of Irene M. (Eckhart) Bollinger. They observed their 62nd wedding anniversary last September.
Bollinger worked at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 25 years until retiring in 1965. He was a past road supervisor in Lower Towamensing Township.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Nathan and Alvesta (Diehl) Bollinger.
Surviving with his widow are six sons, Alvin D., Walter A. and Clark R., all of Palmerton R.D., Herman J. of Palmerton R.2, Morris H. of Nazareth and Martin A. of Lehighton R.5; five daughters, Mrs. Violet Eck of Coplay, Eva, wife of Elmer Larsen of Goldsboro, Md., Evelyn, wife of Steward Nonemacher of Felton, Del., Mrs. Helen Snyder of Palmerton R.1 and Doris, wife of Lawrence Wheeler of Palmerton R.2; a brother Charles of Parryville; a sister Jenny, wife of Guy Smith of Kunkletown; 36 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Earl W., and Neil G.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. A calling hour will precede the services.
