9 Nov 1964: Samuel G. Edris, 75, a well-known Lebanon County farmer, died Sunday at 6:45 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lancaster. He had been ill for the last year. Edris resided, at Fredericksburg RD 1. He was formerly employed in the animal industry for the State of Pennsylvania and was well known in Lebanon, Lancaster and Dauphin Counties. He was president of the trustee board of Wolf's Union Cemetery for many years. Edris was a member of the Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Bashore Edris; eight children, Verna, wife of Robert Hostetter, Myerstown; Mary, wife of Abram Bruckhart, Palmyra; Elias R., Lebanon; Erma, wife of Ira Fahnestock, Manheim RD 4; Rufus B., Lebanon RD 3; Mildred, wife of Dale Kreiner, Elizabethtown RD 3; Edward M., at home, and Lee B., Lebanon; 30 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pierce Edris, Lebanon, and Peter Edris, York, one sister, Mrs. Susan Zeigler, Richland.
