Lawrence Dean "Larry" Steckline, age 63, of Hays, Kansas died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Hays Medical Center Hays, Kansas. He was born October 12, 1957, in Hays, Kansas to Clarence A. and Norma Jean (Dreiling) Steckline.

He married Donna (Pfannenstiel) on October 12, 1996, at Hays, Kansas. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2008.

He was a farm laborer and worked at the LaCrosse Livestock Commission for 30 years. He grew up north of Yocemento, Kansas, he attended school in Ellis, Kansas, and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. He enjoyed Polka music, the Hays Farmers Market, going to the yearly Oktoberfest's, and attending auctions.

Survivors include one brother, JR Steckline and Debbie Ledoux, Bazine, KS; two sisters, Veronica Leiker, Hays, KS; Dorothy Urban and husband, Patrick, Saratoga WY; eight nephews; three nieces; three great nephews and three great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis, Kansas. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ellis, Kansas. A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, evening at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellis. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, all at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the Steckline family in care of Veronica Steckline. Services are entrusted to Cline's-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas.
