One of twelve children born to Joseph Matthew Delaney Willard Wilson and Lucy "Lula" Caldwell Wilson, and the second to die young - The first being her brother Pinkney, who died at only about a year old while the family still lived in Texas. The rest of the children lived to see adulthood.

Her sister, Birdie Ann Wilson Gibson, wrote that Celia had a baby (its father not shared by Birdie - if known or not). Both Celia and baby died of Typhoid Fever, with the baby passing away a few days prior to Celia. The baby was buried Celia's side. Joseph & Lulu moved to Colorado within the year and birthed their child #12, after their daughter Celia and their grandbaby died in Stella, Oklahoma. They settled in the Chama, New Mexico to Pagosa Springs, Colorado corridor.
