Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 12 at First Baptist Church of Austin, 901 Trinity St. in Austin, officiated by the Pastor Doug Keenan. Burial will be at 11:15 AM, Monday at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Fay Campbell Routh was born June 23, 1911 to Walter William and Ollie (Wallace) Campbell. Fay graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX. She received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Central State University in Edmond, OK. Fay worked as a teacher and as a librarian at a high school in Austin, TX. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Austin, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. On November 30, 1933, Fay married Ross H. Routh, an Army officer who later retired as Brigadier General.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one grandchild.
She is survived by four sons, Rob R. Routh and wife, Patricia of Austin, Donald K. Routh and wife, Marion S. of Miami, FL, Alan C. Routh and wife, Rung of Jakarta, Indonesia and Jon Routh and wife, Vivian of Tokyo, Japan; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister, Deane Winters and husband, A.D. Winters of
Nederland, TX.
