Mr. Cunningham, a former Commerce resident who was retired from East Texas State University maintenance department, died Thursday at his home.
He was born March 24, 1917 at Hagensport, TX to James F. and Lula Smith Cunningham. He married Betty Ruth Vandergriff on Sept. 21, 1938 in Commerce, TX. He was a member of
Portland Congregational Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; sons James Cunningham of Jacksonville, TX and Edward Cunningham of Arlington, TX; a brother, Carlton Cunningham of Dallas, TX; a sister Virgie Speight of Failie, and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his nephews; Jesse, Bob, Ben, and Gene Cunningham; and M. L. and James Pike.
