Jericho -- Edward Peter LaForce, 82, of Jeri-Hill Apartments, Jericho, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998 in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born in North Ferrisburgh on Nov. 3, 1915, the son of Francis and Elizabeth (Stebbins) LaForce. Edward was one of 16 children. He was an inventor and a self-taught engineer who invented an internal combustion engine for Ventur-E Inc., of Richmond. He is survived his two daughters, Sandra Rocque and husband James of Huntington, Beriene Laramee and husband Joseph of Sheldon Springs; his sisters, Hazel Lauderbaugh, Elizabeth Lyman, Mildred Growney, Nina Dasey, Elsie Rice, and his brother, Robert LaForce; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Richmond, in the spring. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 5, 1998 at Gifford Funeral Home, 22 Depot St., Richmond, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family care of Gifford Funeral Home.
