Edgar was the son of William Howard Sprenkle & Cecile Gertrude "Gertrude" Frey.
Edgar was a student at the University of Rochester and on the freshman football and tennis teams. He drowned in Sebago Lake from an apparent heart attack while vacationing in Raymond, ME with his parents and brother Robert.
An article in the 15 Aug 1938 (Pg 2) Pittsburgh Press includes: "He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Robert and William Howard Jr., Hartford, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. William Hildebrand of Brentwood, and Mrs. William Edmunds of Brushton. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at Raymond, Me."
