Gertrude "Trudy" Genal Brocker, age 95 of Oshkosh, formerly of New Holstein, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the Aurora Medical Center.

She was born on July 14, 1909 in New Holstein, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Rudolph and Carrie (Dumke) Muenster. She married Carl Genal in Oshkosh in 1932. He preceded her in death in November of 1976. She married Milton Brocker in Keil in 1978. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1999.

Gertrude was a graduate of the Oshkosh Business College in 1930 and had owned, operated and retired from the former Carl &Trudy's Food Mart (1956-1968). She was a member of the Senior Citizens, Historical Society, past member of Civic Society, Liberal Arts and Tuesday Auction Bridge.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Doris) Genal of Oshkosh; two daughters, Patricia Smith of Oshkosh and JoAnn (Ron) Beck of Omro; two stepsons, Mort (Barb) Brocker of New Holstein, Ralph (Irene) Brocker of Florida; three stepdaughters, Bernice (Frank) Groh of New Holstein, Laverne (John) Kabot of Fond du Lac, Jean (Bernie) Fraser of Milwaukee. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren, 33 step-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Diane Genal and a step-daughter-in-law, Norma Brocker both of New Holstein, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Genal Jr.; brothers, Fred, Howard and Donald Muenster; sisters, Elsa Knight, Mary Lou Vollstedt; sister-in-law, Margaret Genal-Anderson and son-in-law, Ray Smith; step-son and daughter-in-law, Romy (Lee) Brocker.

Funeral services for Gertrude will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 4 p.m. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street with the Reverend Raymond C. Coombs of St. Peter's Church in Kiel officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund is being estabished in her name.
