O V Christy is Dead at Age 78
Oran Vincon Christy, long time resident of Numa, died Sunday morning at 6 a.m. at the St. Joseph hospital He had been a patient there since March 19th. At the time of his passing he was 78 years of age and nearly 79.
The deceased was a native Iowan and was born in the state July 25, 1877. He was the son of Abner and Emma Piercefield Christy.
He was married to Martha Mangnall, who survives his passing, also surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Edna Rear and Ethel Murphy of Urbana, Illinois. There is two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Two sisters survive. They are Mrs. Lena Barrickman of Seymour and Mrs Bertha Briggenhurst of Kirsxville, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Numa Christian Church with Rev. Bruce Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Numa cemetery.
They body will lie in state at the Johnson Funeral Home until Tuesday.
