James W. Fetterman, 56, of Logansport Road, Bethel Township, Ford City RD 2, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart seizure at 10:40 p.m., yesterday, in Citizen's General Hospital, New Kensington, where he had been a patient the past 11 days. He was employed the past 35 years as a coal miner by Leechburg Mining Company at Foster Mines in Brownstown and at Parks Mines. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local Union No. 6274, District 5. He lived the past 27 years at his present residence. He served with the army during World War II and was active in Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 330 of Leechburg. Born April 12, 1919, in Leechburg, he was the son of Sheridan and Fannie Anna Mae (Miller) Fetterman. He and the former Angeline Waltenbaugh were married July 23, 1943, in Leechburg. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Donald E. of Gilpin Township and James C. at home; five daughters, Mrs. Harry (Marjorie) Gray, Mrs. William (Linda) Smith, Mrs. Richard (Leona) Gamble and Mrs. Robert (Janet) Prunty, all of Bethel Township, and Miss Rebecca Fetterman, at home. Also surviving are four brothers, Clarence of Sarver, Roy of Kittanning RD 2, Paul of Grove City and Wilbert of Banfield, Gilpin Township; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Berry of Apollo, Mrs. Ruth Walmer of Bethel Township, Mrs. Mary Baker of Gilpin Township, Mrs. John (Helen) Keener of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Donahue of Buffalo, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren. Two brothers, Howard and Elmer, and three sisters, Mrs. Lena Brison, Mrs. Florence McElhanney and Miss Isabelle Fetterman, are deceased. FETTERMAN—Friends of James W. Fetterman, who died May 30, 1975, are being received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Sunday afternoon and continuing through Monday at the Clawson Funeral Home, 2nd and Main Streets, Leechburg. Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Dean McKee of Kelly Station at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Bethel Township. Arrangements by Clawson.
