Roy I. Fetterman, 79, of North Buffalo Township died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin. He was born March 16, 1923, in Gilpin. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 860th Aviation Corps. Mr. Fetterman was a former coal miner, worked for PPG Industries in Ford City, and was a school bus driver. A member of the Kittanning American Legion, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing musical instruments. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Fetterman of Kittanning and Larry Fetterman of Ford City; a daughter, Mrs. Barb (Ronald) Carney of Kittanning; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilber Fetterman of Leechburg and Paul Fetterman of Julian; and two sisters, Helen Keener of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Dorothy Donahue of Niagara Falls, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Edith Lasher Fetterman in 1999; his parents, Sheridan Hays and Fannie A. Mae Miller Fetterman; four brothers; and six sisters. Friends are being received from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Peters of Mount Union Bible Church, Valley Township. Burial will be in Ford City Cemetery.
