Obituary for Mr. James W. "Jay" Pinkerton Jr.
West Point, MS – Mr. James W. “Jay” Pinkerton, Jr., 60, passed away on September 27, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. Jay was born April 3, 1960 in West Point to Joyce Allen Roberts and James Wiley Pinkerton, Sr. He was a farmer for most of his life and worked for Orman’s Welding for several years. He married Barbara Jo Graham on July 15, 1973 in West Point. Jay was a hard working man whose idea of fun was finding something to work on.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, 10:00 o'clock at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point with David May officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Jo Pinkerton of West Point; one son, Sandy Pinkerton (Alison) of West Point, two grandchildren; Wyatt Pinkerton and Avery Mathis, two sisters, Mara Horner and Libby Pinkerton; one niece Brianna Warren and one nephew Lee Horner. Preceding Jay in death were his parents; J.W. and Joyce Pinkerton and one brother, Charles Pinkerton.

Pallbearers will be David Orman, Brian Griggs, Wayne Pruitt, Carl Stahl, Bubba Fitch, Ted Berry, Larry Fretz, Will Foster and Dwayne White.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Hiram Millsaps, Nelson Koehn, Tim Horner, Billy Baucom, Cecil Ferrell, Perry Davis, Jimmy Bryan, Bobby Ricks, Todd Glusenkamp and all of his friends and co-workers at Orman's Welding.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:00 prior to service time.
