William J. Cramer of 88 Cedar Street, Kistler, died at the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 1956. He had been ill since May and was admitted to the hospital the day of his death.

Mr. Cramer was born at Mount Union, R.D., on March 13, 1928, a son of J.B. and Grace (Keller) Cramer. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ripple of Kistler on December 20, 1947, at Hagerstown, Maryland.

He was a member of the Methodist Church of Allenport. He attended Allenport schools and the Mount Union High School. On December 3, 1945, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served for three years. He was discharged as a corporal from Langley Field, Virginia, on December 19, 1948. It was during the time that he spent in the service that he completed his senior year of high school.

The deceased was a member of the Juniata Valley Racing Association, the Mount Union Rifle Club, Newton-Wayne Lions Club, Simpson-Hunt Post of the American Legion in Mount Union, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Loyal Order of Moose of Huntingdon, Kistler Fire Company and the Newton-Wayne Sportsmen's Association.

Surviving are his widow; his parents; two children, Thomas William and Karen V., both at home; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Zelda Kushio of Orlando, Florida; one brother, A. 2C. Gerald Cramer, stationed in Japan; and three sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Josephine) Flood of Shippensburg, Mrs. Earl (Mary) Suders of Newark, New Jersey, and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Prough of Mount Union.

Funeral services will be at Clark's funeral home, Mount Union, at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 9. The Rev. Frank Crawford will officiate and interment will b at the Mount Union IOOF Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after noon, Saturday.
