William James Hollis was born in Rhode Island, 11 April, 1863, son of James B. Hollis and Sarah Randall. He married Lura Bella Coats in Pottawattamie, Iowa 7 Sept 1889. They had seven children, six growing to adulthood. They lived in Nebraska and eventually settled in Davenport, Washington just prior to 1900. A few years after the last child was born William James Hollis left the household. He married Elsie R Benway 30 Aug 1918 in Spokane, Washington. He married May M O'Brien Paige 13 July 1928 in Spokane. He died 11 Dec 1928 in Spokane.
