Obituary from The Daily Herald (Provo, UT) - Monday, January 15, 1962:
NEPHI - Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Garrett Loughney, 66, former Nephi resident who died Saturday in a Salt Lake hospital of natural causes, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Third LDS Ward Chapel in Nephi. Burial will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi.
Mrs. Loughney, who resided in Salt Lake City at the time of her death, was born February 5, 1895 in Nephi, a daughter of Charles Henry and Emma Hawkins Garrett. She was married to Clarence E. Loughney in April 1919 in Salt Lake City. He later died.
Mrs. Loughney was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are one son and two daughters, Robert Loughney of Sacrament, California; Mrs. Betty Dyas and Mrs. Anna Mae Smith, both of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters, Loren Garrett, Nephi; William H. Garrett and Mrs. Ione Geraghty, both of Reno, Nevada; Mrs. Edith Manwaring and Mrs. Lucille Groskopf, both of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Lettie Bowles, Nephi.
