The son of Daniel Seaborn Bruton and Trena Trucilla Griffin.

Danny Bruton, 81, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Dimmitt, Texas.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 1:30PM at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt with Coby Gilbreath officiating.

Danny Bruton was born on December 26, 1938 in Dimmitt, Texas to Daniel Bruton and Trena (Griffin) Bruton.

Danny graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1957 and went on to Texas Tech University and graduated with a degree in Agronomy. He then served in the United States Army from 1963 – 1965 and was stationed in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

After he was honorably discharged from the Army he married the love of his life, Brenda (Cryer) Bruton in Elida, New Mexico. (May of 1965). Shortly thereafter, he and Brenda returned to Castro County and began farming in Flagg.

Through the years they were both very involved within the community and Danny and Brenda were named the 2002 parade marshals of the Castro County Harvest Days Parade.

Danny served as a member of the Young Farmers Organization and was a member and director of the Dimmitt Agri Industries Board as well as a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt. Danny was very involved and dedicated to the Castro County Stock Show as well as many others. He helped start the Golden Spread Sheep Show in Amarillo.

Danny loved traveling with his family to all the stock shows watching Kevin show.

At one time Danny had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying airplanes but also loved classic cars and going on fishing trips to the mountains. Danny loved his family and will be dearly missed by all.

Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Kevin Bruton and wife Krisse of Dimmitt, TX grandchildren, Klancy Bruton and Kreed Bruton of Dimmitt, TX, 3 sisters, Kalleen Corley and husband Mike of Pismo Beach, CA, Lori Tubbs and husband John of Grants Pass, OR and Kate Skudstead and husband Mark of Grants Pass, OR, 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Cryer and wife Brenda of Wolfforth, TX and Jerry Cryer and wife Doris of Ruidoso, NM.

Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Bruton and brother, Miles Kelley.

Funeral arrangements are under the direct care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
