Graveside services for Mrs. Essie Faye Latham Watts, age 87 of Ashland, were held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Clay County Memory Gardens with Rev. John Luckie officiating.

Mrs. Watts passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Clay County Hospital. She was born in Clay County and after moving to Los Angeles, CA for 12 years, returned home to live out her life. She worked at Russell Mills as a seamstress for over 30 years and was a member of Bethel South Baptist Church. Mrs. Watts was loyal to Christ, and her biggest aim in life was to see everyone saved and knowing the Lord. Her mind was sharp, as she enjoyed playing gin rummy and dominos with her family, who she loved dearly.

She is survived by her daughter: Kay Ballow (Joe) of Ashland; one brother: Lemule Latham (Irma) of Goldville; two grandchildren: Tammy Heath (Gay) of Ashland and Shane Davidson (Michelle) of Ashland; five great-grandchildren: April Allen, Wade Heath, Peyton Davidson, Anna Grace Davidson and Charlie Davidson; four great-great-grandchildren: Calvin Allen, Delilah Allen, C.J. Allen and Ava Heath; several other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Latham and Elizabeth Albright Latham; her husband, John Wilburn Watts; one daughter, Delilah Gortney; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers were: Shane Davidson, Peyton Davidson, Charlie Davidson, Adam Strickling, Kevin East, Joe Ballow and Ricky Latham.
