LINEVILLE — Funeral service for Martiel McVey, 80, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Clay County Funeral Home chapel with David Rozelle officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. McVey died July 23 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. She was a native of Baton Rouge, La., and had lived in Clay County most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence McVey.

She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Parker of Lineville and Betty Denney of Lineville; sons, Ralph McVey of Lineville, Marshall McVey of Derby, Kan., Jimmy McVey of Douglasville, Ga., and James McVey of River Falls; sisters, Maudine Henley of Waverly, Mary Crawford of Ashland, Bessie Latham Latimore of Pensacola, Fla., and Essie Watts of Ashland; brother, Lemuel Latham of Goldville; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Grandsons and granddaughters will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 6 p.m.

Clay County Funeral Home will direct the service.
