Milton Conway Winegar, 91, of Clinton, Mo., formerly of Turner, Kan., passed away Sept. 6, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Milton was born March 1, 1916 in Hickman Mills, Mo., the son of Walter Grover and Laurine (Doxey) Winegar. Milton's parents, Walter and Laurine started Winegar Teal Band Camp in Racket, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a paratrooper and a cook. He was a machinist at Simmons Gun Specialty where he helped develop rib sights for guns. He retired from G.M. Fairfax after over 25 years as a Quality Control Inspector, was a school bus driver for Turner Schools and farmed with his father. Milton was a scout master, pitcher for the Edwardsville baseball team, enjoyed wood working and loved traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy (Hollenbeck) Winegar, his parents, two sisters and a brother. Survivors include his children, Charles Winegar and wife Sharon, Sally Flaherty and husband Ron, and Tom Winegar; nine grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; eight great-greatgrandchildrenl and a sister, Alberta Butler of Independence, Mo.
