The Late Mrs William Leach
The funeral of the late Mrs William Leach was held from the residence of her parents, Mrs and Mrs Robert Illingworth, Almonte, on Sunday afternoon, to Auld Kirk Cemetery, Rev Mr McKrimmon of the United Church conducting the service. The following acted as pallbearers, Messrs. Percy and Arnold Illingworth, Jack Barker, Max Young, Alex Schoular of Almonte and W.A. Code of town. The late Mrs Leach was before her marriage, Myrtle Nellie Illingworth, daughter of Mr and Mrs Illingworth, of Almonte and was in her 27th year. About 3 ½ years ago she married Mr William Leach of town and since that time resided in Smiths Falls, where she made many friends who will regret to hear of her early demise. She was sick only a short time and was taken to the Public Hospital, where she passed away last Friday morning. Besides her bereaved husband and parents she is survived by three sisters, Mrs Bert Clark of Ottawa, Mrs Harry Houston, Almonte and Mrs D.J. McKeracher of Chesterville. One brother Mr Hozen Illingworth was killed overseas in 1918.

A highly esteemed and respected resident, Mrs William Leach, died at the local hospital, Smiths Falls, on Friday, January 21. Mrs Leach had not been in good health for some months, but had not been confined to her bed until a couple of weeks previous to an operation on Thursday from which she never rallied. her death came as a great shock to her many friends and relatives both in Almonte and Smiths Falls. Mrs Leach had a wide circle of friends. The funeral took place on Sunday to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. She was born in Almonte in 1900, third daughter of Mr and Mrs Robt. Illingworth and was married to Mr William O. Leach, of Smiths Falls, on June 23, 1923, where they resided since. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev J.R. MacCrimmon of the United Church, at her father's home of John street. Friends came from Smiths Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Trenton, and other places. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and her father and mother and three sisters, Mrs Bert Clark, Ottawa; Mrs Harry Houston, Almonte; Mrs J.D. McKerener, of Chesterville......
