Mr Robert Illingworth
A well known and highly respected resident of this town for almost 80 years, the funeral of the late Robert Illingworth was held Saturday afternoon from his late residence, John St., to the Auld Kirk cemetery. Rev W.J. Scott of Bethany United Church officiated. The pallbearers were Harry Houston, Dan McKerracher, Oswald Illingworth, Arnold Illingworth, John LeMaistre and Jas Hogan. Previous to his retirement a number of years ago, he was an overseer of the knitting department of Penman's Limited. He had been an invalid for some time and passed away Wednesday, Dec 30th. Born in Almonte 79 years ago, he was the son of the late George Illingworth and his wife Nancy Berryman. Some 53 years ago he was married to ELiza J. Milford, who survives him in addition to three daughters, Mrs Bert Clark of Ottawa; Mrs Harry Houston of Almonte and Mrs Daniel McKerracher of Chesterville. There are also two brothers and two sisters, Jno B. Illingworth of Almonte; William Illingworth, Toronto, and Mrs Annie Cook and Mrs A.L. Goold, Ottawa.
