Born March 18, 1934, in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Archie Lee Calvert, Sr. and Allene Marie (Floyd) Calvert.
He was the manager of the Conoco Service Station, a member of Westside Baptist Church, and Arcadia Masonic Lodge #285.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Faye Revels Calvert of the home; a son, Terry Calvert and his wife Kathy of Spartanburg; a brother, Allen Calvert of Spartanburg; four sisters, Margaret Hodge of Duncan, Doris Owens, Juanita McGowan, and Sandra Wilson, all of Spartanburg; a grandson, Ben Calvert and his wife Jaime of Boiling Springs; an aunt, Mae Knighton of Duncan; an uncle, Fate Calvert of Campobello; a great-grandson, Andrew Calvert; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Calvert. He was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Calvert; and a sister, Mary Greenway.
Masonic Rites were observed at 5:30 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel with visitation following from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Eddie Burris. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
