Born April 17, 1932, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Archie Lee Calvert Sr. and Alline (Floyd) Calvert.
Mrs. McGowan was a member of Hayne Baptist Church and retired from Baber-Rhyne Drugs.
Surviving are her daughter, Pam Seay Suttles (Gary) of Arcadia; son, Chris Hudgins (Betty Ann) of Spartanburg; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Owens, Margaret Hodge, and Sandra Wilson, all of Spartanburg; and a brother, Allen Calvert of Spartanburg.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Paul William Seay; her second husband, Ted F. McGowan; son, Bobby Hudgins; brothers, Archie Calvert and Bobby Calvert; and a sister, Tensie Greenway.
Visitation was 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by Mr. David Silvey. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
