John M. Sammons, 74, of Denver Colorado, died Monday, October 31, in Pueblo, Colorado. Mr. Sammons, a former resident and farmer of Elkhart, was born in Shelby County, Alabama, on May 8, 1875.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hassell and Foster Chapel with the Reverend Joe H. Berry officiating. Interment will be in the Elkhart Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, T. M. Sammons and H. E. Sammons, both of Kings Valley, Oregon, F. E. Sammons of Lamar, Colo., and C. T. Sammons of Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. Carl C. Wright of Grand Junction, Colo., Mrs. A. E. Nelson of San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. W. V. Taylor and Mrs. S. J. Crouch, both of Palm City, Calif.; three brothers, Cliff Sammons and Hall Sammons, both of Elkhart, and Frank Sammons; two sisters, Mrs. Ruben Rogers and Mrs. Thomas Bynum, both of Elkhart; 23 grandchildren.
