Alfred M. Abdalla, 70, long-time McComb merchant, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday in Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, La.
Mr. Abdalla had been ill but his death came unexpectedly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
Born Nov. 25, 1900, in Jeanerette, La., he was the son of the late Moses and Maggie Solomon Abdalla.
He was a member of the Civitan Club and the Episcopal Church where he was active in all phases of the church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Corinne Thomas Abdalla; one son, Alfred B. "Buddy" Abdalla, Jackson; one daughter, Miss Jeannine Joy Abdalla, New Orleans, La.; one brother, Sidney Abdalla, McComb; one sister, Miss Annie Abdalla, McComb, and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be sent to the heart fund or the Episcopal church.
Pallbearers will be Kinnon Thomas, Steve Thomas, George Solomon, Jake Abdalla, Jerry Abdalla and George Ellis Shamis.
Rev. Norval Yerger will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
