Robert C. "Bob" Derry, 77, 562 E. Fifth St., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.


He was born January 13, 1930 in Berwick, IL, the son of Nelson Elwood and Laura Jane Conrad Derry. He married Betty Jane Swank on December 18, 1948 in Abingdon, IL. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2002.


He is survived by 2 sons, Eddie D. Derry, Abingdon and Allen Derry, Galesburg, 2 daughters, Elizabeth Jane Streeter, Galesburg and Karen (and Michael) VanAusdall, Hillsdale, IL a special friend, Bonnie Bolen of Galesburg, a brother, Ivan Derry, Berwick, and 2 sisters, Virginia Swank and Pearl Schisler, both of Abingdon.


He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.


He was a press operator at the former Maytag Corporation for 30 years before retiring. He was a former member of Faith Nazarene Church.


Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
