Thomas Brown

Thomas Brown, pioneer, who crossed the plains to Oregon in 1852, died at his home in Eugene today. Mr. Brown was a carpenter by trade. He was believed to have built more houses in Lane County than any other living man. During his 65 years' residence here he seldom was away from home and made but two trips to Portland.
He is survived by three sons: Richard, William and Francis, of Eugene; one brother, J. B. Brown, of Pendleton; two sisters, Mrs. S. B. Jackson, of Creswell, and Mrs. Mary Bucknell, of Montana.
Funeral services will be held in Eugene Tuesday morning.
