David Lee Strait, age 53, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center.
David was born Nov. 10, 1953, in Joplin, to Madeline Donaldson Strait and Leonard E. Strait and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life.
He was a 1971 graduate of Carl Junction High School and worked at Crowder Tree Surgery for many years. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2410.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his brother and sisters, Mary Dennen, Joplin, Donald Strait, Joplin, Susan Strait, Joplin, Ellen Strait, Elsey, Mo., Jayne Strait, Joplin, and Shirley Ellis, Carthage; and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by a sister, Claudia Buckley.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Carl Junction Cemetery. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Girl Scouts of America in care of Parker Mortuary.
