Madeline was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Joplin and had lived in Joplin most of her life.
She worked for several years with the Goodwill Store in Joplin.
She volunteered several years with the Economic Security Corp.
She was also an active leader with the Girl Scouts for over 20 years.
Madeline married Leonard Strait Nov. 15, 1945, in Joplin and he survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Donald Strait, Veguita, N.M.; four daughters, Mary Dennen and Susan Strait, both of Joplin, Ellen Strait, Galena, Mo. and Jayne Strait, Lewisville, Texas; six grandchildren, Curtis, Stacey and Jason Dennen, Rebecca Lashley, and Paul and Austin Strait; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Strait; and a daughter, Claudia Buckley.
Graveside services will be held at the Carl Junction Cemetery with Rev. Jarel Burnside officiating.
