She was the wife of Dr. Edmund Taylor Brantley. To this union were born Mary Isabella, Sarah Almeda, Bula Jane, Edmond Franklin, Robert Taylor, Thomas Fulton, Elmer Hudson, Daniel Taylor, Lewis Carroll, Pearl Estelle and Aubrey. Bula Jane and Lewis Carroll died as children, Robert Taylor died in infancy and Aubrey died as a young woman. Her parents were Absalom Langston and Mary Ann "Polly" Hart.
