Last rites held at New Hope for Mrs. Braswell

Funeral services for Mrs. Dovie Hawkins Braswell were held Thursday, January 25, at 3 p.m. at the New Hope Methodist Church.

Officiating were Revs. Robert Ellis and Cornell Daughtry. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery at Winona with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Braswell, who was 89 years old, died January 24 at the Tyler Holmes Hospital, following an extended illness. She was a native of Choctaw County and a member of the Mission Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late John Brassell.

Survivors are a son, Rip Collins, Winona; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Vance, Mrs. Lois Russell, Mrs. Louise Blaylock and Mrs. Montee Blaylock, all of Winona; two brothers, Clifford Hawkins and Lester Hawkins, both of Winona; five sisters, Mrs. Mary McClellan, Greenville, Mrs. Jessie Wooten, Chicago, Mrs. Dorothy King, Mobile, and Mrs. Alice Adams and Mrs. Eva Adams, both of Winona.

Pallbearers were Joe Wilburn, H. B. Vance, Homer Blaylock, Junior Vance and Benson Blaylock
