ISAAC ROBERTS DIES SUDDENLY AT MOBILE

Isaac Douglas Roberts, 79, died suddenly Monday of a heart attack while on a visit to his daughter, Mrs. J. W. DePoister. He was a resident of the Decatur area for a long while. The body arrived Tuesday night on L & N train No. 4 and the funeral procession will leave Brown funeral chapel this afternoon at one o'clock for Moss Chapel where the service will be preached by Rev. W. W. Aldridge. Interment will take place at Moss Chapel, Brown directing.
The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. V. Long, Decatur and Mrs. J. W. Depoister, Mobile; one sister, Miss Josie Roberts, Danville 3; one brother, Robert Roberts, Decatur 3 and one step-daughter, Mrs. F. O. Pitt, Louisville, Ky. Six granddaughters and five grandsons also survive.

Isaac Douglas Valandingham "Doug" Roberts was the son of Isaac Roberts and Elizabeth Dunaway Roberts. His first wife was Susan Elizabeth "Bettie" Long whom he married on August 7, 1883 in Giles County, TN. Bettie is buried in the Roberts-Brown Cemetery on Brown Road in Western Morgan County. He married Etta Lee Story on May 6, 1918 in Giles County, TN.
